Discover this exhibition, presented by 2nd-year DN-MADE Mode students at the Lycée Choiseul in Tours, as part of France Design Week. Wicker has played a significant role in the history of costume and fashion, enabling the construction of clothing structures that are both light and imposing, such as the "basket dresses" of Louis XVI and the crinolines of the Second Empire. This "orthopedics of appearances", which has now disappeared, nevertheless invites us to reflect on the way our bodies inhabit space; how is it possible to allow the body to apprehend the "simplicity" of its existence, of its movements? The students present pieces that question this "free body", combining textile techniques and plant-based know-how.
