Dutch artist Koen Taselaar presents his first solo show in France, with a project designed specifically for the monumental space of the art center?s nave.
Describing himself as a "visual omnivore", Koen Taselaar draws his references from many fields of pop culture, including punk music, fanzines, comics and the world of skateboarding, as well as from the history of art, architecture and design, which he revisits according to the whims of his imagination. At the heart of end and is a 19-meter-long tapestry produced especially for the exhibition. Here, Koen Taselaar revives the narrative vocation of the great historical tapestries, such as the famous Angers "Tapestry of the Apocalypse".
