Find the campsite of your holidays in the Loire Valley!
Val de Loire boasts numerous camp sites which do their utmost to ensure you enjoy wonderful outdoor holidays just a stone’s throw away from the Loire chateaux, charming towns, walking trails and bicycle tourism tracks. Here is a selection of Touraine’s outdoor accommodation where you’re sure to have a wonderful time.
Camping in Loire Valley: 5 stars for the Parc de Fierbois!
The Parc de Fierbois, which already held the Qualité Tourisme label, is awarded a fifth star! Chalets, mobile homes, tree houses and gîtes are spread out over a 100-hectare park next to camping pitches. This extensive campsite offers aquatic spaces and a wide range of activities. It is located at equal distance from Tours, the medieval town of Loches and the royal fortress of Chinon.
By the waterside
Holidays are ever-so relaxing by the waterside, even if it’s far from the coast. The Camping Les Coteaux du Lac, located on the shore of the lake of Chemillé-sur-Indrois, is an enchanting spot to spend ultra peaceful holidays whilst enjoying the closeness of Chenonceaux, the royal town of Loches, Beauval Zoo, the villages of Montrésor and Chédigny… what more could you wish for! Another great address in the area: the Camping La Citadelle, perfectly located at the very heart of Loches.
The Airotel la Mignardière also deserves a mention: in addition to the close-by Bretonnières Lake, this camp site is perfect for visiting Tours, the gardens at Villandry, the castles at Azay-le-Rideau and the Montbazon Fortress.
Near Chinon, the Tohapi Parc des Allais campsite is located on the banks of the Vienne river. From your holiday home you can easily visit the castle of Rivau, the pretty town of Richelieu, or enjoy canoeing from Descartes.
Camping in Loire Valley… on the nature side
To the North-West, nature is denser around the Camping de l’Arada Parc, Les Granges and Huttopia. The first one offers 4-star family camping whereas the second, exquisitely located on the shores of Lake Rillé proposes wonderful walks.
Ever-so British camp site!
A British-style village exists in Touraine. Yes, indeed! English teachers, Jane and Tim Rocke, who chose to set up home here, welcome you to their Camping l’Orangerie de Beauregard and its absolutely British atmosphere. In addition to accommodation, a swimming pool and restaurant, children can take part in English classes and activities. Studious holidays, successful holidays!
Along the Loire on a bike
For bicycle tourists, camping in Loire Valley is a good option! The Loire & Châteaux is a great stop-off camp site between Tours and Chinon. Like the Camping Le Capitaine, in Bourgueil, it proposes in particular its Campétoiles, small huts, a blend of wood and canvas, where you sleep suspended above a picnic table: ever-so practical!
Heading upstream, Onlycamp Tours Val de Loire (at the gateway to Touraine’s capital city) and the Camping de l’Ile d’Or (Amboise) also invite you to lie back, relax and enjoy.
