A trip on an electric scooter or a Segway
It’s always fun when you are on holiday to get out and about on the high streets, along the quays and in many other sites besides. To spice up your sightseeing and enjoy an amusing experience, you can take a scooter or a Segway and see Touraine in a totally original way.
By electric scooter
Visitors aged 12 and over can get on the all-terrain electric scooters on offer from TrottXway. After a few tips about how it works and the precautions to be taken, and of course after putting on a helmet, you can set off on a themed tour. Among the tours on offer, several run through the vineyards. Which is not very surprising in Touraine!
So before a tasting you can set off to explore the vineyards at Château de Minière, Château de Valmer, the Pierre & Bertrand Couly or Nicolas Paget wine-tasting cellars or the Domaine de la Noblaie.
This is a very popular activity for hen or stag parties. The big TrottXway fleet is also a chance to host groups during seminars or for any other company event.
The same goes for Sennevières, with a ride in the Loches public forest on all-terrain electric scooters from Trott’Ecow!
City tours on a Segway with Freemove
Tours, Amboise, Loches and Rochecorbon: the Freemove company organises Segway trips to all four towns in Touraine. A professional guide rides with you. Here again participants must be aged 12 or over.
A nature tour with Gyroway
Gyroway can take you on a trip to the town and the vineyards, but there are also outings in a nature setting:
- on the banks of the Indre, to Azay-le-Rideau or Bréhémont
- in the Chinon forest
- on the banks of the Cher in Savonnières or Villandry
- on the banks of the Loire in La Chapelle-aux-Naux, for example, if you are staying next to the Toue Reine towpath or in the fisherman’s cabin
- and in plenty of other places for tailor-made trips!
To the vast Saint-Roch – Blanc Foussy wine cellars
In Rochecorbon, the Grandes Caves Saint-Roch include long galleries dug out of the tuffeau stone: the famous troglodyte caves. Alongside a “traditional” visit with a wine-tasting, you can also explore the galleries using the above-mentioned means of transport. Wine tourism definitely comes in all shapes and sizes!
