Synopsis:

The film tells the story of Albert Quentin, a small hotel manager in a seaside resort on the Normandy coast. A former marine in China, Quentin is an alcoholic who drinks to forget his dull daily life. But his wife Suzanne, who can no longer stand his behavior, forces him to go cold turkey. He crosses paths with a young man who is also tempted by the vertigo of alcohol.
