Défaillance Critique is an anticipatory film and unfinished scenario about the representation of racialized queer communities. Diffracted, multiplied and deployed on the timeline without linearity, like a montage in progress, the film is an attempt to invent a new method for making cinema, while posing a series of ethical, aesthetic and practical questions. Défaillance Critique interweaves a series of obstacles and revelations following the journey of Ekko, an artist-in-residence in an art center, who discovers himself to be a robot and attempts to hack his own code by choreographing a piece amidst resistant androids in order to free himself from his link to the ICAC (Institution Centrale d?Art Contemporain), take control of his body and become autonomous.
