Proposition théâtrale : “La Dernière Lettre” de Vassili Grossman-1

content (1)

In July 1941, a mother, imprisoned in one of Ukraine?s Jewish ghettos, writes to her son to tell him "what his last days were like (for) it will be easier for him to leave life at that thought". She writes of her love for him, her daily survival in the ghetto, her joys and her loneliness. She tells him what she sees, what she feels and what she thinks. How can we go on living, and at what cost? How can we keep the flame of our moral conscience alive in the most extreme situations? How can we keep faith in humanity when it is disintegrating before our very eyes under the blows of war? These are just some of the questions that La Dernière Lettre addresses in a demanding and lucid manner, with the complicity and words of Philippe Bertrand.
