Horse riding: ready for adventure?
It is quite common to see hikers, bicycle tourists and holidaymakers paddling in their canoes in Touraine, but you will probably also come across a few riders enjoying a horse ride.
There are many equestrian centres all over our region, where fans of horseriding can take lessons all through the year. Five of the centres have the “Tourism Horseriding Centre” label, given by the national federation.
Les Ecuries d’Anadé, La Galopade, Les Petites Rivières, L’Alezane and Touraine Cheval have special deals adapted to all visitors, ranging from a one-hour horse ride to trails lasting several days.
A horse ride with Touraine Cheval!
At Touraine Cheval, Jessica, Christine and Maryline will always welcome you with a smile. The centre was founded in 2011 and is dedicated to leisure horseriding and well-being (through animal mediation). A wide range of activities are on offer: lessons for children and adults, courses for different levels, special events, rides…
For our horse rides, whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, you can always enjoy a great ride on a good-natured horse or pony!
Beginners can set off on a short ride of one hour at walking pace, while more experienced riders can range the countryside at a trot or gallop. It is worth noting that with an €80 family package (2 adults and 2 children), you can enjoy a wonderful first horseriding experience, bringing you some great holiday memories and the chance to make contact with horses and nature.
Horse riding in the Touraine countryside
If you set off for a ride lasting several days, your trip will take you to the banks of the River Loire, through the vineyards and of course to the foot of some of the Loire châteaux. There really is plenty to see!
But even if you just stay in the horseriding centre in La Chapelle-aux-Naux, your horse rides will take you along country paths through forests and orchards, alongside the vineyards or to the foot of the Château de Fontenay (open for visits in season). So let’s saddle up!
