Lunch on the terrace

How pleasant it is to relax on a terrace in nice sunny weather! As you enjoy a cool glass of wine, waiting for your dish, you can so easily get lost in time. It is undoubtedly a must do during your vacation!

Let’s have a look at three restaurants that have irresistible terraces where you can enjoy an unforgettable moment.

The « Auberge de l’Ile » – a gastronomic restaurant with a terrace

Auberge de l'Ile - L'Ile Bouchard, Loire Valley, France.

As you discover pictures of the dishes carefully cooked by Pierre Koniecko, you cannot wait to taste them. A good reason for the Michelin guide to reward the Chef who carries out his excellent cooking in L’Ile-Bouchard, near Chinon.

When you enter the “Auberge de l’Ile”, you will discover a contemporary style room and its charming terrace with a view of the Vienne River, where you will thoroughly enjoy your meal as well as the surrounding scenery!

“Bistro’Quai” – a restaurant with a terrace that serves terrines

This place was established by the water. The Cher River gently flows next to the restaurant and is in perfect harmony with hot air balloons that take off near Chenonceau chateau. The “Bistro’Quai” restaurant is situated in the lock house’s garden next to the Cher River by the lock in Civray-de-Touraine (very close to a canoe rental company called Canoë Company).

Just like the place, the menu is also unusual: you will have the choice between thirteen fish or game terrines to spread on the local baker’s fresh bread. How simple and efficient! How beautiful is the view!

« Le Colonial » restaurant – a typical terrace with a little bit of something else.

Jérémy Faghel did not hesitate to acquire international experience (Paris, Annecy, Dubaï, Athènes…) before he became the Chef of “Le Colonial” restaurant. Abroad, he became fond of spices that he uses to carefully keep the balance of flavours in the food and be creative at the same time.

The terrace opens on to a beautiful countryside landscape. The furnishings have got a British touch that the owners (since 1991) simply cannot deny as they come from Great Britain!
