The pleasure of a good night sleep in a charming Bed and Breakfast

In Loire Valley, known as the land of chateaux, there is a wide range of beautiful mansions ready to be visited by worldwide visitors.

On Balzac’s beloved land

Born in Tours, it was in the Indre Valley that Honoré de Balzac took refuge for a while, fleeing the Parisian capital to escape his creditors. At the Château de Saché, to be precise, which today houses a museum dedicated to him. In one of his novels, “Le Lys dans la Vallée”, he relates a walk to the château de Frapesle. In fact, it is indeed the Château de Valesne, the first address that we warmly recommend in these few lines. Bed and breakfast and guest table will allow you to enjoy a very pleasant stay (seminars can also be organised).

King size bed, private bathroom, dinner with nice dishes, continental breakfast, and above all, smiling owners who are happy to share their passion for old stones with you.

A view of the Cher River

The charming Fontenay chateau, refined and chic, is a wine vineyard, offering a view on the Cher River in Bléré, near Chenonceau. The chateau also provides four large and elegant guest rooms at the top of the main majestic staircase. Breakfast, which is essentially made of home-grown products, is either served in the main dining room of the chateau or outside, underneath the wisterias. As the nice weather returns, you are invited to enjoy a refreshing moment in the swimming pool.

And if you are very fond of the interior decoration, Nathalie, the owner of the place, will sell you some of the decorative items. How unusual!

A new dose of tranquillity

2022 will have been the first tourist season for Marine and Jean-Paul Bottier, who have taken on the crazy challenge of reviving the Château de Charnizay. A bit crazy? Not so much, considering their promising start. In addition to your characterful guest room (there are 5), a gîte and ecolodges offer a variety of pleasures for your next stay, including business: the location is perfect for a seminar in the countryside.

In the surrounding, plan to visit Loches (City of Art and History, with its royal city, the Emmanuel Lansyer museum…), the Grand-Pressigny Prehistory Museum, and the Haute Touche zoological reserve.

Become the château owner for one night

Charming Bed and Breakfast in a castle, not far from Paris: Chateau de Gizeux, Loire Valley, France.

Chateau de Gizeux

Gizeux is a typical family château located in the countryside near the Bourgueil and Saint Nicolas-de-Bourgueil vineyards. Apart from its beautiful furniture, the painted gallery is a real treasure dated back to the XVIIth century, depicting numerous French chateaux. The guests are warmly welcomed by the owners Stéphanie and Géraud de Laffon and will spent an unforgettable night (or several as it is often the case!) in one of the five large rooms in the chateau.

How moving it is to walk through the living rooms and the gallery to reach this blue, romantic, XVIII century style bedroom! In the evening, a candlelight dinner is served in one of the private rooms. The menu is homemade and cooked with seasonal and local products from Touraine.
