The Indre à vélo route

If you liked the Loire by bike, you will certainly like its “little sister”: the Indre à Vélo! This slightly more secret route takes you through the heart of the bucolic countryside between Berry and Touraine.

The Cyclo Bohème as an alternative route

For a new cycling holiday in Touraine, another world is possible… or at least another route, marked out by numerous points of interest. Connected to the Loire by Bike (at Chenonceaux and Azay-le-Rideau), the Cyclo Bohème offers another itinerary to cross Touraine from east to west, passing through the south. Do you follow?

Note also that this cycle route is also connected to Coeur de France à Vélo (also in Chenonceaux) and to Saint-Jacques à Vélo and the Scandibérique (in Montbazon).

Cyclo Bohème route (Indre à Vélo)

From the majestic Chenonceau castle, if you continue 30 kilometres further south, you will arrive at the gates of the royal city of Loches, through which the Indre flows! Along the river, heading west this time, the fortress of Montbazon, the Candé estate and the Balzac museum are nice stops before reaching Azay-le-Rideau, l’Islette, the Maurice Dufresne museum, and then returning to the Loire by bike (to go to Chinon, or return to Tours).

The advantage of the Indre à Vélo route: a particularly quiet and bucolic itinerary, with fewer people on the route as well as in the sites to visit. A real greening up, embodied for example by the village garden of Chédigny!

You can start a long journey from Azay-le-Rideau, and cycle to Loches, Chatillon-sur-Indre, Buzançais, Châteauroux, La Châtre, Boussac, up to Chambon-sur-Voueize.
