Sleeping in a garden
In this early 21st century, the garden is more than ever on the trend. The environmental issues become a major concern. The desire to get closer to nature is stronger but on the other hand urbanization has never been so quick. However, people really admire the beauty of the landscapes design, they enjoy quiet and love hearing the birds singing. They can smell the scent of flowers and of the freshly cut grass.
The garden tradition in Touraine
In Touraine, during the Middle Ages, the abbeys had their own gardens (kitchen garden, orchard, medicinal garden…). During the Renaissance, the Italian style garden became fashionable and during the 19th century, many English style parks were created. Touraine is now renowned for its variety of gardens which are more than ever an attraction for our visitors. People really enjoy walking in the gardens of Villandry, Valmer or Chenonceau or discovering the blooming streets of the small village of Chédigny (rewarded for the quality of its flowers).
