Summer paradise leisure activity
Even if tourists mostly come to the Loire valley to visit our worldwide known chateaux, they also take the time to enjoy the many leisure activities available in Touraine. Swimming, treetop adventure and zip lining, biking, boat trips…. A real paradise!
Paradise water activities
When the temperature rises and you feel cooling yourself off, do not resist the temptation! You will certainly find the ideal natural area to go swimming like the lakes of Hommes or Chemillé-sur-Indrois but there are also many outdoor swimming pools! Enjoy splashing in the water, playing, swimming etc… a holiday with a capital H!
Imagine entering the water, gently guiding your canoe when a well-meaning friend arrives and splashes you playfully… a very tempting scene indeed! Another (safer) option would be taking a trip on a French traditional riverboat, during which you will listen to the captain explaining everything about the surrounding landscape.
Paradise land activities
If you drove around Touraine, you would probably notice that it is gently sloped. It is an ideal landscape to go walking or cycling for a few hours as there is a lot of open countryside and forests. There is a large number of hiking paths and bicycle tours (52 traditional tours + La Loire à vélo and St Jacques à vélo…) and many possibilities to hire bikes on-site (traditional road bikes or electric ones).
As for your children, they will be delighted to spend time in the leisure parks such as Family Park or Lulu Parc. And if they are animal lovers, take them to the “wildlife park of Beaumarchais” or to see the fish at the “Aquarium of Touraine”. If you wish to discover our local traditions, you must visit the troglodyte valley “les Goupillières”, an ideal place for families.
Paradise tree activities
To complete your leisure time, try a treetop or zip lining adventure. You will find 4 places in Touraine: Saint-Benoit Aventure, Gadawi Park, Baud’rillé Parc Aventure, Clic’Lac Parc Aventure.
Become a tightrope walker 10 meters above the ground, wearing a safety helmet and a harness fastened to the tree…. What could be more sensational? A hot air balloon trip maybe?
